one and a half year course under the joint auspices of Kaivalyadhama,
Lonavla and Pravara Medical Trust Loni.
For the first time in
the annals of Yoga academics a Medical University is collaborating with
Kaivalyadhama's Yoga College for enriching Yoga Therapeutics in the
interest of humanity.
A specially designed comprehensive Yoga Therapy programme (One and half
years duration) has been scheduled to commence from August 1st, 2010.

and psychobiological interpretation of the ageless experiential science

D.Y.T. course stand out with its excellent administrative and academic

- POST GRADUATE COURSE
IN YOGA THERAPY (PGDYT)
- Duration of the Course:
One year with
two semester examinations. (Including a 6 month internship) at Pravara
Medical Institute.
- Eligibility:
Graduates in biological sciences, aggregate/ Medical Graduates, BAMS,
DHMS, D.Y.Ed. from reputed & Affiliated institutes.
- Age: Not
more than 45 years. Age limit does not apply to foreign nationals provided
they are adept in yoga practices,other things being at par with Indian
Nationals.
- Objectives:
i. To train science / medical graduates and qualified yoga teachers
into clinical / Therapeutic aspects of yoga so that they can become
a part of a Yoga Therapy team at hospitals / social and educational
institutes.
ii. To promote the awareness for "Positive Health" and "Yogic
Personality Development" in students.
iii. To develop and impart skills in application of yogic practices
for restoring and promoting positive Health.
iv. Etiology of selected disease will be studied with the help of research
surveys and clinical observations in the context of basic concepts in
Yoga, Ayurveda, Psychology and Physiology.
- Medium of instructions:
English (Students will be given an option to write exams in Hindi)
- Scheme of Evaluation:
i. Internal assessment
ii. Final examination for each semester.
Internal assessment
i. Attendance in Theory
and Practicals
ii. Assignments in the form of case studies,report of team work, practicum
seminar and project work.
iii. Personal experiences pertaining to yoga practices
(a) In the capacity
of a yoga practitioner.
(b) In the capacity of a yoga therapist.
iv. Personality changes:
as assessed by different teachers through a semi structured tool.
