“Tasmin sati śvāsa–praśvāsayoḥ gati–vicchedaḥ prāṇāyāmaḥ”
— Patañjali Yogasūtra – II.49 (Chapter 5)
“When posture becomes steady, the conscious regulation of inhalation and exhalation is known as Prāṇāyāma.”
Transliteration
śiraḥ kapāle rudrākṣaṃ vivaraṃ cintyed yadā,
tadā jyotiḥ prakāśaḥ syād vidyut puñja-samaprabhaḥ.
Meaning (English)
When the aspirant contemplates upon the Rudrākṣa like Space in kapala or at the crown of the head (śiraḥ kapāla),then a divine light arises — shining with brilliance like a cluster of lightning.
Interpretative Meaning
This verse describes an advanced stage of meditation where concentration on the Kapalrandhra with the electric illuminated light’s visualization awakens an inner radiance — the effulgence of divine consciousness, symbolized as a lightning-like illumination in the subtle body.
Prāṇāyāma is one of the most powerful disciplines of Yoga. It refines the breath, steadies the nervous system, purifies the internal channels, and prepares the mind for meditation.
In today’s world, where breath is often shallow and irregular due to stress and lifestyle imbalance, structured and traditional guidance becomes essential. The Pranayama Sādhana Śibir offers a progressive and systematic training rooted in classical yogic texts and the research-based tradition of Kaivalyadhama.
The Śibir is conducted in three levels:
- Level I – Basic
- Level II – Intermediate
- Level III – Advanced
Each level is a 7-day residential immersion designed for progressive deepening.
