Our breath is our life, but we don’t pay attention to how we breathe in our day to day lives. Breath is also the bridge between our body and mind and we can work with it through yogic practices to have more energy and peace of mind in our lives.

The Yogic Breath-Work Yoginar will help understand and experience how simple breathing practices can act as a key to living a healthier and happier life by befriending your breath. Beat stress, anxiety or simply experience the secret to joyous living in this 90 minute session.

Let’s learn to make our breath our best friend and allow it to bestow us with better health for our body and greater happiness for our mind.

Program Outline

  • Learn the method of correct normal breathing
  • Discover effective deep breathing and full yogic breathing methods
  • Understand how the breathing practices can help in stress reduction, relaxation, and emotion management.
  • Learn one of the most powerful Pranayama practice and have a first-hand experience of the same
  • Interact, discuss and share experiences with the facilitator

Program Facilitator

Dr. Praseeda Menon is an experienced Research Officer at the Scientific Research Department of Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute, Lonavala. Apart from a PhD in Psychology and a post-graduate Diploma in Yoga & Ayurveda, she has also studied Buddhist Psychology & Ethics. She conducts collaborative scientific research on the efficacy of yoga in holistic health, healing and well-being. Some of her recent research work at Kaivalyadhama deals with the psychological impact of mind-body interventions focusing on the impact of yoga on non-communicable diseases, mindfulness in relation to personality factors, and the efficacy of yogic practices in children with intellectual disabilities. She also teaches yoga and mental health for various courses at the G. S. College of Yoga & Cultural Synthesis, Kaivalyadhama, and is a member of its Board of Studies & Examinations. Apart from being an Integral Member of the Kaivalyadhama Ashram, she is very passionate about unearthing the scientific treasure in Indian traditional knowledge systems through collaborative research and education, and unravelling this timeless knowledge to the world.
