Description
Yoga texts of Vedic tradition are very rare. Vasistha Samhita (Yoga Kāṇḍa) is one of such texts. The text is unique in establishing a balance between Hathayoga and Pātañjala yoga. We find it propagating an eight fold path of Patanjali but unlike Patanjali, enumerates 10 Yamas and Niyamas in place of five. It also describes 10 asanas as well as various Dharana and Dhyana.
Along with that we also find Hathayogic concept of Human anatomy such as 14 Nāḍīs, 10 Vayus, 18 Marmasthānas etc. The text is full of information pertaining to the practice of Yoga according to Patanjali and Hathayoga both.
