(This) is said to be the rousing of the power. In the practice of it are two things important;
the rousing of the Sarasvati (nāḍi) and the holding up of the vital air.– Yoga-Kundalini Upanishad, 7,8
What?
Chakra or wheel-like energy centres in our body connect the physical and material planes to the spiritual ones. Depicted as a wheel or lotus, Chakra meditation has been written about in Vedic, Tantric, and Upanishadic texts as a quest for self-knowledge and liberation.
Of the 109 chakras, seven main chakras along the spinal cord are energy centres linked to nerve centres in the body.
If not activated, these energy flows can be blocked by negative emotions, impacting the balance of other chakras. As an ancient Yoga practice, Chakra meditation taps these radiant outer and inner energy dimensions to create positive body-mind connections.

As an ancient Yoga practice, Chakra meditation taps these radiant outer and inner energy dimensions to create positive body-mind connections.
Why?
Each of the chakras are points of sensation, deeply associated with our emotional experiences – positive and negative – including both pleasure and pain. Chakra meditation stirs hidden spiritual energies that exist in all of us. Through self-awareness, chakra meditation allows activation and free flow of energies to stimulate mental and emotional peace, and well-being.
Meditating on the seven chakras relaxes the body and mind of everyday stress, emotional triggers, and physical disorders. It empowers one for self-healing, boosting concentration, improving energy levels, and increasing immunity. It facilitates mindfulness and oneness by channelizing our inner consciousness. New disciplines such as psychology, colour therapy, and childhood development have also recognised the potential of Chakra meditation today.

How?
The Chakra Meditation Workshop by Kaivalyadhama – one of the oldest Yoga Institutes in the world, aims for unification of the body, mind, and spirit – as one system. This 3-day series blends together theory, chanting, and practice. Chakra meditation is a guided and personal process. We ensure that you are directed by an authentic and competent master throughout the Course.
The curriculum focuses on the tradition, techniques, poses, mantras, breathing, and visualisation required for Chakra meditation. It covers individual characteristics and functions of each energy chakra, while aligning them with one’s thoughts and feelings. A highly experienced Yoga practitioner will steer the sessions for a progressive, step-by-step awakening of the chakras from outer to inner, and lower to upper dimensions.

Participants Experience:
I found this workshop very interesting. I've been practicing yoga for many years and also completed some courses before, however, I love to know more, expand my knowledge and this course definitely helped me to do it. Overall, I really liked this course and also I appreciate Dr. Santosh Pandey. He demonstrated very good knowledge on the subject, presented everything in a clear manner, answered all the questions and was encouraging us to participate in the discussion. I would definitely take another course with him.
