Of all the languages, the God’s own language- Sanskrit is the mother, divine and most lyrical language. In Sanskrit, poetry is more melodious wherein the good sayings hold prime position.

Why this Workshop:

This workshop will provide the basic orientation of Sanskrit language to the aspirants who has deep interest in the science of yoga and in allied philosophy. The ancient Indian scripters anchored in Sanskrit language and literature. The course will provide foundation of the basic Sanskrit for all the inquisitive minds.

Content:

Sanskrit is one of the most ancient language of the world. The entire gamut of Indian culture is reflected through the rich literature written in Sanskrit. The Vedas and the Upanishads are written in the primitive from of this language. The philosophical tradition in India is sustained by this language. Texts and interpretation written in Sanskrit are highly illuminating. The science rooted in Sanskrit scriptures. Therefore, study of Yoga, in true letters and sprit is not possible without the knowledge of Sanskrit language. Sanskrit and yoga go together. The course covers the grounds of Sanskrit language which are necessary to undertake the study of yoga. The silent features of the course are follows: –

  1. Elementary Sanskrit language learning
  2. Learning of Sanskrit alphabet
  3. Functional grammar
  4. Learning of the Sanskrit words and phages in the context of yoga sutra.

About Resource Person:

Dr. Bandita Satapathy is working as a Research Officer, in the Philosophical Literary Research Department of Kaivalyadhama, Lonavala apart from being engaged as a Lecturer in G. S. College, Kaivalyadhama. After completing her M. A, M. Phil, Ph. D in Sanskrit, she is involved in doing researches in the areas of Yoga and Sanskrit language. She is an accomplished scholar who has authored several books and research-oriented papers. She is the member of the publication board of Kaivalyadhama. She is an erudite grammarian who has an in-depth knowledge of the science of language.
