What is Kriya Yoga?

Kriya Yoga techniques are nothing but simplified meditation techniques, evolved by the ancient sages, for the common house holders and the adept Yoga Sadhaka alike. These techniques are particularly helpful for those not having a native interest & orientation towards meditation but still wish to avail its benefits. This technique of Kriya Yoga is of Kaivalyadhama lineage that traces its origin in teachings of the Bhakti Yoga exponent Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

What are its Benefits?

Researches and clinical evidences amply prove the efficacy of Kriya Yoga in managing and helping insomnia, migraine, tension headache, body ache, hypertension, diabetes anxiety and many other Emotional Disorders. An enhanced physical and mental stamina, a deep sense of contentment within and an equanimous stance amidst all odds around are some of the often reported benefits of Kriya Yoga.

Relevance to Our Daily and Professional Worlds:

As a professional we need to be role models for our subordinates. If we are level headed and psycho-physiologically fit to execute the given tasks with ease, efficiency and effectiveness we would be able to exercise a positive and inspiring influence on our coworkers, subordinates and superiors. In our daily life we need to fulfill expectations of our near and dear ones while remaining fighting fit to make a fruitful adjustment with the external world. Kriya Yoga is one of the easiest techniques ever developed which is most practicable and beneficial even for beginners.

Mind-Body Relationship in Psycho-Neuro-Immunology:

Our bodily functions are moderated by Pituitary, a tiny gland in our brain. The secretions of this gland are directly influenced by our response patterns. Thoughts and emotions of happiness, peace and harmony release neurotransmitters such as Serotonin, Melatonin and Dopamine. Negative thoughts and emotions create disease-related neuro-peptides. Even accidents, due in part, are implicated with disturbed states of mind. As per Bhagwat Gita (II: 64, 65; VI: 21, 22) the Absolute Joy can be gained through yoga. It means, the constant release of good neurotransmitters can amply be evident through yoga, helping an executive through his/her familial and professional life.

Practice Proper of  Kriya Yoga:

Anuloma Viloma Pranayama cleanses the nadis to a sufficient degree for facilitating the optimal movement of Prana throughout the body. Omkar/Ameen/Amen disseminates the Prana, in a proper measure, throughout the body. Gayatri Mantra or any other mantra of your faith acts as a very effective agent in protecting our Prana from all its abnormalities. Kriya Yoga, thus, channelizes the Prana, in most ideal manner, throughout the body. This results into a proper functioning of all our psycho-physiological systems, resulting into a vibrant immunity and a feeling of psycho-physiological balance which, in turn, lead us towards a meditative experience.

It is recommended to resort to Anuloma Pranayama, Omkar and Gayatri Mantra as Manusmriti says,

Ekaksharam Param Brahma Pranayamah Param tapah

Gayatrastu parannasti Pawanam Param smritam

Omkar is Supreme Reality, Pranayamas are Supreme Penance and Gayatri Mantra is the most pious of all mantras”

Mechanism of Yogic Effects

Yoga practices, particularly breathing techniques and meditation, are performed in an effortless & passive mode with parallel vigilance experienced throughout the body. Sensory Feedback gets augmented towards maintaining the homeostasis. Yoga practices bring about a shift towards the parasympathetic dominance, resulting into a rejuvenation of nervous system, respiratory system, digestive system, spinal cord and endocrinal system. Inward awareness, thus accruing, results into a toned-up sensory feedback. Yoga Meditation reaches deeper, unconscious recesses of mind so as to identify, stimulate and remove unconscious impressions, complexes of which we are slave most of times. As a result one becomes sensitive to human relations, personal growth, organizational growth and work-a-day life problems. This affects our decision-making ability favorably, as biases, prejudices and many a complex are naturally mellowed down and removed.

Yoga -> Mental Calmness -> Mastering Attachments & Antipathy -> stability of Intellect leading to Absolute Joy! As per Bhagwat Gita (II:65), the Absolute Joy removes all kinds of miseries and endows us with a stable Intellect.

What is the Most Special Features in this Technique?

Simplicity in its practice and its sure-fire effects makes it probably the best of all 79 available Kriya Yoga techniques being practiced in India today. On mysticism plane too, many people have reported miraculous effects on all their worldly affairs, such as much better relationship with people around, smooth success in their professional and family life and so on.
