॥ heyaṁ duḥkham anāgatam॥
Prevent the suffering that is yet to come.—Patanjali Yoga Sutra II.16
What?
The whole world is presently struggling to survive the COVID-19 pandemic. Like any virus, Coronavirus directly targets the body’s immune system – the ability of a body to inherently fight against any infection. Experiences of COVID-19 survivors show severe prolonged impact such as respiratory problems, body aches, headaches, joint pains, muscle strains, and fatigue. The trauma disturbs both physiological and mental well-being. Consistently building robust immunity is a need of the hour.
It is today well-accepted that COVID rehabilitation must focus on breathing exercises. Both body movements and regulated breathing by way of traditional Yoga can boost natural resistance and aid in speedy recovery from COVID-19. Through postures and breath control, Yoga works on blood circulation, body purification, mind cleansing, and self- awareness. As a spiritual quest, Yoga aims to achieve holistic outer-inner equilibrium.
Why?
COVID-19 causes serious inflammation of the body’s immune system causing breathlessness, struggle for oxygen, and even Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). This leads to stress in the lungs, brain, and other bodily systems where the virus attaches itself and attacks.
Yogic techniques such as the Asanas (body positions) and Pranayama (controlled breathing) facilitate body stretching and bolster the diaphragm. Yoga can recommend healing exercises depending on the intensity of COVID-19 symptoms and co-morbidities to recover the pulmonary and respiratory systems. Yoga practice revives the exhausted body and soothes the troubled mind in a highly effective manner by bringing back confidence and positivity.

How?
The in-depth workshop on ‘Post COVID-19 Recovery and Immunity thorough Yoga and Ayurveda’ by Kaivalyadhama, one of the oldest Yoga institutes in the world, focuses on getting your health and immune system back post-COVID 19. While eating and resting well are important for recuperation, this workshop provides the right opportunity to help one introspect and make positive lifestyle changes for long-term physical and emotional strength. The exercises work on the body’s nervous system to enhance blood flow and overall relaxation, for extended immunity. The meditation techniques provided will help regain mental balance and conserve energy.
The two-day series involves personalised interactions with highly experienced Yoga and Ayurveda therapists to facilitate exercises for clearing the lungs and respiratory system. Advancing in a progressive manner, the practice sessions will emphasise on relieving related pressures and anxieties – to rejuvenate and energise the body and mind in the most pragmatic manner.

Participants Experience:
On the whole it was an amazing session with Vivek Tiwari ji. I was able to understand Postural analysis. He concept of connecting the body was really informative. Will be using that for practice and then to clients.. Would like to learn more about physiological changes of yogic practices, be it asana, pranayama , shuddhikriya and so on.
Especially it was the effective format of class having anatomical view and actual practice sequentially. We have got scientific and experiential knowledge for proper Asana practice based on his practical experience in long-term. I am expecting a class or course for foreign language based people with an interpreter or translated text, such as in Korea. Thanks a lot for your efficient and devotional work for all.
Vivek Sir's knowledge in Anatomy is commendable.
Simple yet effective teaching by Shri. Vivek Tiwari
First day was excellent. Overall the quality of his teaching was outstanding. So many new things I could learn. I would definitely advise this to more people. And when COVID is done, I would love to come and do a course on-site. Thanks again.
Dr. Bhutada explained the Ayurveda side so clearly which made me understand about the importance and effect of Ayurveda.
