Vijñāna Bhairava Dharana
and Meditation practice

Dharana from Vijñāna Bhairava Tantra (the ancient Indian text) will help you experience the power of authentic dharana practice through its numerous mental health benefits and the evolution of the practitioner toward Universal Consciousness and having Inner Harmony with Self, which has been described as the “essence” of dharana.

We will be focusing on selected sutras from Vijñāna Bhairava Tantra and exploring them with the help of meditation techniques.

Basic Benefits of Authentic Dharaṇa in the Modern World:

Core Essence of the Vijñāna Bhairava Tantra

The essence of this ancient text is found through embodying the Dynamic Nature of Bhairava’s freedom/Will, Wisdom, and Action through the integrated Awareness of Individual Self and the Bliss of the Cosmos. (Meaning of Vijñāna Bhairava — content/theory — text of tantra that explains Dharaṇa).

The Workshop Will Provide a Comprehensive Approach to:

  1. Study of the Classical Dhyana (scriptural basis/physiological basis) and how it prepares for the next steps.
  2. Concepts of Pratyahara, Samapatti, Dharana, Dhyana as described by Patanjali and the Shiva Samhita.
  3. Preparations for Kriya Yoga — Essential preparatory Techniques to assist practitioners to be prepared to begin the dharana meditation practice.
  4. Techniques that were developed long ago to enable deep meditative states of consciousness, as described in the texts of India.
  5. Exploration of the Shiva Samhita and guided sessions/discussions about the exploring nature of the Shiva Samhita.
  6. Applying the practices learned to enhance daily interconnections and well-being in our lives.
