Why this Workshop?
Experts in sleep behavior and sleep disorders have found that a majority of us sleep less hours than we should. We would be more productive, good humored and satisfied with life if we were able to get a full complement of sleep each night.
Ayurveda states that pleasure, sorrow, strength, good intellect, greed, or loss of memory etc depends upon a sleep pattern. Sleeping disturbance/disorder or not having adequate sleep pattern will lead our body towards house of physical and mental diseases which also effects on the quality of work we do in our day today life.

We would be more productive, good humored and satisfied with life if we were able to get a full complement of sleep each night.This workshop will guide you that as per Ayurveda what leads to sleep disturbance? How to self-analyses factors and changes to be made in our daily routine.
Different Cause of Insomnia
- Various causes contribute to insomnia, such as use of psychoactive drugs, caffeine, nicotine, amphetamines, cocaine;
- Hormone shifts (including menstruation and menopause);
- Life events including fear, stress, anxiety, emotional or mental tension, work problems, financial stress, birth of a child, bereavement;
- Disturbance of the circadian rhythm (such as shift work and jet lag);
- Certain neurological disorders;
- Medical conditions including hyperthyroidism and rheumatoid arthritis;
- Poor sleep hygiene, e.g., noise
Benefits of Yoga Therapy in Insomnia
- Yoga therapy brings numbers of benefits to people suffering from the trauma and insomnia.
- Various techniques of yoga are available.
- Patients receive total relaxation and positivity through yoga therapy.
- Although those sleeping tablets may help to induce sleep, there may be risks of side effects.
- In addition, they work on the “symptom” of the body, but not eliminate the “cause” of it.
- On the other hand, yoga has no side effects, but good ones only.
- It is also possible to change the life style through yoga.
- The causes of insomnia will be removed by the continuous practices of yoga.

About the Facilitator:
Shri Neeraj Singh is a science graduate with deep interest in yoga. He completed his Diploma in Yoga from Kaivalyadhama and has wide experience of teaching. He is popular with the international groups, who love his very quite and peaceful demeanor, his clarity and simplicity.

Dr. Sajith Pillai (BAMS) – Practitioner and Ayurvedic consultant. Dr. Sajith Pillai is working as the Consultant Doctor at the Health Centre. He holds a BAMS degree from MUHS Nashik.
